What are we doing?
We are aiming to raise £1500 (roughly to cost of specialist kids wheelchair, plus a bit) to support the continuing development of disability sports activities hosted at Brunel University London. These activities are accessed by local kids with disabilities, making sport and physical activity accessible to all. The sessions are fun and inclusive and promote participation and socialisation (as well as activity!).
Who are we?
The team is made up of Alex, Lorenzo and Chris who are all MSc Physiotherapy students and Tom, one lucky Physiotherapy lecturer, from Brunel University London.
What is our 3 peaks challenge and why are we doing it?
After months of training, the team will be attempting to tackle the 3 highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales with a twist. Not only are we going to hike up the three highest peaks in the UK, but we are also going to cover the 430 miles between them by bike all within a week (28th August- 3rd September)! There will no feather pillows either as a tent and a camping stove are the only luxuries we will have.
As future physiotherapy graduates we realise the immense value of participation in sport and physical activity, but also appreciate that the very people who could benefit most are often excluded do to lack of opportunities and facilities. By undertaking this challenge and raising money we are able to support the developing provision of sport and activities for young people with disabilities in the community in which Brunel University is based.
By offering your support you will motivate us up those hills (and more hills), but more importantly you will be helping to provide the opportunity for kids of all abilities to enjoy the fun of sport and physical activity that many of us take for granted.
Where will the money go?
Every penny we raise will go directly to the cause.
We will help to fund new equipment, club kit and qualified coaching and any money over the target will go towards funding an activities taster day for local kids (see video for example of previous event). All venue costs to run these sessions/events are donated by Brunel University.

We will be posting our progress (and our blisters!!) on the Brunel Physiotherapy Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages and will post regular updates on here. So keep an eye out to see how we are getting on!
Help us succeed!
You don't need to give money to help us succeed (although it would be GREAT if you did!). Please share the challenge with everyone you know as the more people who know about it, the more kids we will be helping. You can share through Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, email, telephone, in a chat over the fence, in the pub or on your blog.
